The BMW M5 Ring Taxi makes a comeback at the famous Nürburgring Nordschleife.

Back in June 2011, BMWBLOG team attended the M Festival at the 24 Hr of Nurburgring and we had the opportunity to see for the first time the next generation F10 M5 Ring Taxi. The Monte Carlo blue painted M5 was sporting the usual Ring Taxi decals and was driven by the famous German driver Claudia Hürtgen.

Since 1986, the BMW Ring Taxi thrilled more than 90,000 passengers at the famous Nürburgring Nordschleife. The newest M5 Ring Taxi was spotted in an Alpine White paint and powered by the high-revving 4.4-litre V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo package and its 560 hp at 6,000 – 7,000 rpm.

Haven’t heard anything yet. It would be cool to have her back

Well, She was let go at the beginning of 2011. Most likely reason is that she signed up with Frikadelli Motorsport to drive Porsche’s and go against the Z3GT4 and other BMW’s.  So BMW did a stupid, they fired her.
Instead of hiring her into one of the series, they let go of her. She is a GT version of Danica Patrick. She may not be as good looking or as young but hey, she is a still attractive lady at 43 and one heck of a driver.

I do not think she will be back as it was not her carrier high-light it was something she enjoyed doing but she has still a lot left in her carrier. I wish her a successful racing with Porsche’s or whatever she decides. She should come back to the ‘ring to drive any Taxi when she is older and completely retired from active racing. I could see that in about 10-12 years.

She is a talented driver with a great aptitude and great personality. She is one of the most underestimated driver due to being a blonde female. Has she been born as a blonde guy her/his racing carrier would have been even better.

The M-stripe on the front edge of the white model actually looks quite good (reminds me a bit of that sling around contestants in beauty pageants). IMO Attractive enough that BMW consider making and selling a limited run of these M5’s with the M stripe decals
