F10 BMW M5 Crash

The folks over at Autogespot show us what could be the first crash of a new F10 BMW M5. The crash took place in Netherlands and at a first glance, the only significant damage is related to the front bumper.

Other dents and scratches can be seen on other sections of the super sporty sedan.

The cause of the accident is unknown also, but could be related to the loss of wheels’ control that led to an impact with another object.

Fortunately the crash seems to not have had any causalities.

insignificant ? ahem… you have not fixed wrecked cars ever then. I bet there is at least 6-8k usd damage on that car !

the intercoolers are probably there, engine oil cooler, the bumper reinforcement most likely got shifted, grilles, hood, oil cooler lines, undertray, various ducts, etc. If BMW decided to put an electronic unit below the headlight (common place) then that unit might be damaged as well.

I’d say close to 6-8k usd damage is possible w/o knowing the BMW M5 prices but guessing.

Since the car is almost 100k its around 8-9% of the value, so no big deal but its not so minor.

I wonder what the hood is made out of ? Carbon fiber or aluminium ? Either way the price of a hood can be as much as a 2 thousand alone.

a whimpy neon turbo from 2001 had a special for that model only hood and that cost $1,380 is 2001 !!! The total cost of the car was 20grand, so it was a significant amount if you dented the hood.

but its interesting to see one being damaged :-) Those old M6 wheels still look awesome on most BMW’s.

    This car had a list price of €162k. Sticker price of a “base” M5 in the Netherlands is €132k and it has €30,000 worth of options on it.

      162k Euro ? Who in a great mind would pay 162k euro for an M5 ? For that price I rather have the Aston Martin Rapide or a slightly used Ferrari 612
      Geez… the US price is a bargain then.
      I guess I will never own an M5 as I would NEVER pay that much for A car with a roundel on the front.
      
      that much cash can purchase several very good cars and a classic which might even gets more expensive in a few years time.
      the M5 will drop its price faster then the Greek economy
