At the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show, BMW reveals the 1 Series Performance Accessories Study vehicle. As we indicated before, the BMW 120d features a full aerodynamic package with several BMW performance parts.

The super sporty package includes a front and rear aprons, side skirts and a modified rear spoiler, black grilles and carbon fiber mirror covers. Black decorative stripes add a sporty touch to the white paint and fit well with the dark gray painted alloy wheels in 19 inch format.

Inside, the 120d showcases a BMW performance steering wheel with the yellow market at the top, alcantara trim, a shift knob dressed up in carbon fiber as well as sportier pedals.

I test drove the 118i yesterday. When I first saw the pics I was horrified at this car’s exterior and when I saw it inthe showroom yesterday I was pleasantly surprised. I must admit though, the car is still not a stunner but it isn’t as bad looking as it is on the pics. Lighting and the right colour makes a big difference. I’m sure sure the m-package will also go along way in making this car more attractive. That having been said, I’m a BMW fanatic but still think that the exterior design could have been better executed. What I can say though is Wow!! What an interior and what a drive. Dynamically the car feels great and you cannot help but fall inlove with the car’s interior. Definitely class leading intertior and its going to be hard to beat. Exterior concerns aside, this is a great car…..

I fully agree with you on the interior – it is now a very special place to be. I had a look into the cockpit of a X1 for reference and was sruprised how dull the X1 now looks.

But I’m in love with the exterior design too. Not in the same way as, say the new 6 or Z4, but in a different way – for what it is, totally sexy. You will not mistake the 1 series for anything other than a BMW, that long nose is just so gorgeous.

I also had my first drive in one yesterday and I can say that it now is a very desirable car to me. Besides the expensive options, very little else is wrong with it.
