BMW is getting ready to unleash onto the new 2012 BMW M5 onto the streets, and to celebrate, Turn 10 and Microsoft are bringing the super-sporty sedan to the Forza Motorsport 4.
This means you will be able to take a virtual test drive long before the car goes on sale, a fact that Turn 10 seems to be rather proud of considering the M5 can be seen on the Collector Edition’s cover.
Forza Motorsport 4 launches on 14 October and pushes the racing genre forward with unmatched graphics, groundbreaking new community features, and radical experiences only possible with Kinect and a landslide of cars from elite automotive brands.
“At BMW we are thrilled to offer fans the first chance, whether it’s in game or on the road, to experience the brand new BMW M5 in Forza Motorsport 4,” said Mr. Ralf Hussmann, general manager BMW Sportmarketing & Cooperation.
The 2012 BMW M5 will be available as part of the BMW M5 Fan Pack, available starting at launch to all Forza Motorsport 4 owners who download it from Xbox LIVE Marketplace.
With the BMW M5, fans will be able to experience Autovista mode, where Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson takes fans on a virtual tour of the world’s most sought-after cars.
With the new super sporty sedan, BMW has moved on from from naturally aspirated engines to a TwinPower turbocharged V8. The high-revving 4.4-liter (4395cc) turbocharged uses the BMW M TwinPower Turbo technology, twin-scroll turbochargers, high-precision direct fuel injection, VALVETRONIC variable valve control and a cross-bank exhaust manifold. The engine outputs 560 horsepower from 5,750-7,000 rpm and 680Nm (502 lb-ft) of torque from only 1500rpm.
The F10 M5 should arrive at local US dealerships in May-June 2012.
