Earlier today, BMW unveiled their latest gimmick…and what a powerful and bold move this was. The new BMW M3 Carbon Racing Technology will set the bar for more sporty cars to come.
The M3 CRT has a limited production, 67 units, it is priced in Germany at 130,000 euro and not available for US market. BMW M3 Carbon Fiber Technology debuts new production process for CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastic) components that are used in the upcoming i3 and i8.
M3 CRT uses the same engine as the M3 GTS Coupe, 450 horsepower at 8,300 RPM and 324 lb-ft torque at 3,750 RPM. Top speed is limited to 180 mph and the carbon-fiber dressed M3 runs to 62 mph in just 4.4 seconds.
