BMW 1M in Black Sapphire makes an unexpected appearance at the BMW of North America Headquarters in New Jersey. What others might label it as a spy photo, we will take a chance and call it a planned leak; the new 1M in black paint comes to add to the enthusiasm and buzz around the new entry-level M model.
The photos come courtesy of 1Addicts and showcase the Black Sapphire 1M with blacked out competition wheels that enhance the overall look.
Valencia Orange has been the preferred marketing color for the new BMW 1M, but many BMW fans and potential buyers have become increasingly anxious to see the new “baby-M” in other colors as well. The exclusive and limited 1M also comes with a limited choice of paint jobs, the aforementioned Valencia Orange, the classic Alpine White and the bold Sapphire Black.
Beside the Brussels Motor Show where the 1M appeared in the Alpine White color, all the other auto shows hosted the 1M in the new exclusive orange. Even the prototype we first spotted in the United States was featuring the same color.
The 2011 BMW 1M launches on May 16th and the demand has already exceed all the expectations. Some US dealerships are only receiving their first units in the fall, while the others are aiming to please their potential customers with the limited units offered this spring.
Earlier this week, BMW of North America released the options pricing and European Delivery base price for the new 2011 BMW 1M. The US MSRP remains at $47,030, while the European Delivery pricing has been set at $43,830.
Here is a summary of the options pricing.

Even though we enjoy the 1M in black, we will still keep our 1M order with the unique Valencia Orange color.
