Latest episode of Top Gear brings back to focus the “M bike” we came to love: S1000 RR. The famous UK show takes the latest Ariel Atom and puts it against the Lexus’s superstar LFA, a Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera and BMW’s S1000 RR superbike.

The Ariel Atom is powered by a supercharged 3.0 liter V8 and produces 500 horsepower while weighing only 1,200 pounds. That adds up to about 900 horsepower per ton; a ratio that shames anything from a Lotus to a Bugatti Veyron.

The S1000 RR. A state-of-the-art 999 cc inline 4 beats within. The engine produces a staggering 193 hp on its way to a stratospheric 14,200 rpm. 83 lb-ft of torque is produced at 9,750 rpm. The engine has a bore/stroke of 80/49.7, the largest bore of any production litre bike. All this in a highly compact engine that weighs only 59.8 Kg (131.8 lb).

You havent got a clue, Japan produces some of the best cars in the world. I imagine you are into American (crap) cars. The old yank mobile is average in a straight line and useless in every other respect. When you get old enough to drive and your balls drop good luck in the car market.

That Toyota is a amazing car you should look up the engineering and performance sometime you would be amazed

  4. wazon8 says:

This V8 Atom is simply amazing. It just has essential features for racing on track and nothing more.

BTW, nice ride from S1000RR. Does anyone know its Nurburgring time?

  5. fredy says:

I still think the bike was faster, the Ariel can be thrown into corners much faster, bikes are prone to loose balance if not taken properly. anyway a great race from the fastest 4 and 2 wheels in the road!!!!!

  6. bod says:

only an f1 car will comfortably beat a superbike but thats like comparing sharks with tadpoles
