When it comes to automotive marketing, MINI certainly takes the crown. Their advertising campaigns are lively, fun, hippy, and yet send a direct message to the customers.

MINI’s first scooter takes the centerstage in their newest online advertising campaign. The MINI E Scooter Concept is being placed in an urban setting and with fun images and scenarios, its qualities are being brought to life.

The electric scooter was unveiled at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. MINI Scooter E Concept is a two-wheeler electric scooter. The electric motor is placed behind the rear wheel, and its driving autonomy is estimated at around 62 miles. Top speed is 31 mph.

The performance of the engine is intended to satisfy the urban needs, thus turning the scooter in an ideal transportation means in the city, and perfectly ecologic.

This scooter looks great and it’s perfect for Mini…. but I can’t help but wonder if it’s ultimate purpose is to bring down the net MPG for the Mini/BMW brand. I’m not complaining because I really do think Mini introducing electric scooters to its lineup is a great idea, but I think government regulation had a lot to do with the introduction of the ‘vehicles.’
