On Paris’ famous boulevard Champs Elysees, the BMW 1 Series M Coupe unveiling saga continues. In this new episode, BMW France had the honor to somewhat reveal more body parts of the new 1M.
If the previous prototype unveiled at Oktoberfest last month continued to carry the same headlights as the current generation 1er Coupe, the new 1M can be seen for the first time with the new headlights. The LED treatment has been applied to the car and the 1M goes through the same visual changes as the upcoming 1 Series Coupe and Cabrio Life Cycle Impulse (facelift).
As seen in these photos, the new 1M Coupe’s track is much wider than the regular 135i Coupe. We believe the new 1M Coupe’s track may be as wide or even wider than found on the current M3, but in a smaller overall package.
The technical details remain a mystery at the moment, but power is rumored to be at least 345 horsepower produced with the help of a large, upgraded intercooler. Weight is rumored at 1,500 kg.
World premiere of the new M will take place before the Detroit Auto Show in January 2011 where BMW will showcase the car for the first time.
