Next month, BMW will unveil the latest iteration of the popular BMW 6 Series. The Paris Motor Show has been chosen as the venue where the new 6 Series will make its world debut.

In the mean time, BMW 6 Series prototypes continued to be seen around Munich and these latest spy photos give us a better look at the interior design.

As seen in the photos below, many design cues are inherited from the new 5 Series and 7 Series, starting with the multi-functional steering wheel, the instrument clusters and the central dashboard. The major difference comes from the navigation system. The iDrive’s LCD system is not built-in the dash as seen in the current generation, but it is rather placed on top of the dashboard, in an upright position.

Design wise, the 2011 BMW 6 Series is slightly longer and wider than the current generation. It will have shorter overhangs and a lower roofline giving the car a more dynamic and sporty look.

The first U.S. model will debut in March of next year in the form of BMW 650i Convertible. In July 2011, the 650 Coupe will follow. Later in September of 2011, the BMW 640 Coupe and Convertible will launch, along with the xDrive variant of the 650.

  2. viper says:

surprisingly it looks nothing like the new interior of 5 , 5gt and 7!

      Sarcastic whiner..

Then surely your beloved brand develops totally unique interiors for every model..

      • wazon8 says:

They do. They decide to copy 5-er interior for their new CSL. At least I find numbers of similarities.

        • viper says:

yeah waz. you can cry to ur mommy all u want. this is pathetic and you know it! you damn well know it.
you also know whos the king.
          but you will never tell.
because you are loyal bmw asskisser

          • wazon8 says:

What?????????? Are you getting to be desperated????? Just compare 5-er interior with CLS. It’s not so hard, isn’t it?

          • FreudeKing says:

The CLS interior is not even close to that of the 5 Series. Merc’s interior are full of ugly cheap black plastics like that of Toyotas. Also, their designers are so old that they cannot draw a proper curve, that’s why their designs are all done using a ruler, that’s why everything is so square and straight. It really puts people to sleep (hopefully not forever for those owners). Those who like Merc interiors just don’t know what style is.

          • wazon8 says:

But this time they’ve stolen some curves from BMW’s designers. :D

          • wazon8 says:

@FreudeKing: Maybe the same guy designed interior of new E-class and that of W124 twenty+ years ago. :D

  3. FreudeKing says:

Just hope that this is not the same steering as that of the 5 Series, or else we have a 6 Series that drives and steers badly as well. But from recent trends of BMW’s cost cutting, I think it will be the same terrible steering.

  4. efoza says:

nice 5 GT inspired design. I like it.

  5. kcsnyud says:

I’m fine with the interior like this, but it better not be present on 3er…

  6. Ann says:

Do you know if the 650 convertible will be a hard top
