The 4,0418 miles 14 turn track at Road America is known as one of fastest circuits in the American LeMans series, and one that many of the BMW Rahal Letterman drivers enjoy the most.

We first attended the weekend event back in 2009 when BMW Rahal Letterman Racing Team scored their first victory in the ALMS competition, and this year, we return for a new experience in the beautiful surroundings of Elkhart Lake.

We at BMWBLOG are not just bimmer enthusiasts, but also car fans in general, so we spent most of our time walking the paddocks of other teams, talking to VW drivers and program managers, chatting with the M3 GT2 drivers, and at time, simply sitting in the shade and enjoying the acoustic show from the hills surrounding the fast race track.

From the growling sound of the M3s, to the whisper coming from the Porsches and the high-fidelity noise from Ferraris, the experience  at Road America is unique, and the Midwest-peaceful and relaxed spirit surrounds the event and makes for a great outdoor weekend.

As always, we are bringing you an extensive photo gallery, followed lately by new photos of the powerful, imposing BMW M3 GT2 race cars.
