BMW Group continues its investment into social media and launches JobChannel career page on Twitter and Facebook. JobChannel will offer a direct channel into BMW’s career opportunities and information on working for the company.
BMW plans to become a more transparent company and this is one of the first steps in achieving their goal. Social Media is more than a buzzword and will serve as medium between the digital world and the corporate world, allowing potential candidate to easily connect with the company and at the same time, allowing BMW to scoop potential talent.
Press Release: Effective 1 July 2010, the BMW Group has launched a career page, complete with current job openings, on the social networks Facebook and Twitter. There, schoolchildren, students, graduates and professionals from all fields can find information on working for the company and career opportunities at the BMW Group.
The job search function integrated directly into Facebook and linked to Twitter is particularly useful. If no suitable jobs are available, jobseekers can opt to receive ongoing Twitter updates on the specific new job openings that meet their criteria. Through the social networks’ “share” functions users can also forward job vacancies to friends, colleagues and acquaintances who may be interested.
