$400,000+ is a steep price, but for those private racing teams looking for the ultimate racer, money comes second. The german team Schubert Motorsport runs this year in the VLN 2010 season and the BMW Z4 GT3 is their masterpiece. While not as fast as the M3 GT2, due to the regulations imposed by FIA, the Z4 GT3 is an impressive machine.

It is powered by the 4.0 liter V8 engine found in the current M3 producing approximately 480 horsepower. The engine is controlled by the modern ECU 408, while the Power400 control unit is responsible for operating all actuators. The transmission takes place via a sequential, six-speed gearbox.

In the video below, driver Richarad Göransson for the Schubert Motorsport Team takes us aboard the Z4 GT3 and takes us, at least virtually, along the famous Nürburgring Nordschleife.

The first video will only raise your interest, so tune into the second one below to listen that “perfect sound” of a racecar.

looks a LOT slower then the GTR or the GT2… in fact looks very slow at all.
The Rain must have been a factor. Sounds good, looks like it has a lot of potential but man 400k for a Z4 race car ? aweful lot of money. Porsche seems like bargain
