Just weeks ago, sources close to BMW reported that the BMW M5 Touring based on the F11 bodystyle has been greenlighted. This is great news for the European consumers since most likely those of us in North America won’t have this option.
Unfortunately, no other details are being released at the moment, but we can expect the M5 Touring to feature similar aggressive design elements as seen in the M5 sedan. The powerplant offering should be identical to the one offered in the sedan model, most likely an updated version of the 4.4-liter V8 twin-scroll engine found in the BMW X5 M and X6 M which will peak at 578-horsepower and 530 lb-ft of torque.
The rendering created by our friends Jon Sibal illustrates some of the usual M-brand design cues seen across the line-up, side gills, aggressive front-bumper and wider side skirts.
While the new 5 Touring is already a “looker”, we expect the F11 M5 to be quite stunning.
Now only if we would get it in the U.S. …..
