At the Frankfurt Auto Show, BMW introduced a limited edition of the popular BMW M6 model. Along with some specific features for this limited model, BMW also introduced the Frozen Grey mate finish paint.
A few weeks later, a BMW fans posted the first photos of an M3 featuring the same paint. The Frozen Grey paint is an Individual Color based on Space Grey Metallic. A special matte clear coat (FF95-0550) makes for the matte finish.
Earlier this week, two members of m3post published photos of their M3 Coupe models at the BMW Welt. Nothing special so far, some of you might say, but when we add the Frozen Grey mate finish to them, they suddenly becomes somewhat special.
According to them, BMW Individual produced only 30 M3’s in Frozen Grey for the world market in October. Along with this Individual finish, both of them decided to add the “Edition” black wheels as well, giving the M3 one of the best looks we’ve seen.

Holy mother of god that is beautiful. That is the original concept setup. Can I have a go?
Oh yeah! It’s like a slightly more shiner matte finish. Satin? I love the idea as it does look like a car thats been out in the cold over night.
From a design point of view you can see the values and strength of shade/shadow vs light on the surfaces. One can almost understand the form of the vehicle better without the distraction of shiny/glossy surfaces.
I don’t think user:efoza has any idea what he’s talking about!
How much?? I’d definitely consider paying the premium for that color.
That is a beautiful machine.
Wow…that looks like it was photoshopped (not in a bad way) into the photo…it really stands out…it’s almost sureal
Interesting… are the black-painted wheels a standard option, an “individual” option or something else?
That looks gorgeous!!
WOW, looks amazing!
Reminds me of my Stratus Grey 6series, which is also an individual option. A progression of that colour id imagine.
