I’m pretty sure these are both 5ers; the grills look different because if you get the night vision option there are less slats in the kidneys – the camera is behind the grill

I think it looks boring and plain. I thought the 5GT looked sporty and aggressive, and I was really hoping they would just turn the 5GT into a 4 door sedan for the new 5 series. Instead, it looks like BMW has gone with more of a plain and simple look. Unfortunately, the way these models are looking, I’d expect the new 5 to be competing with the likes of Hyundai instead of Mercedes in terms of design.

I guess I’m in the minority here, but I’ve always liked the looks of the E60. It was distinctive enough to be copied by other manufacturers. This looks like a major backpedal, and Jaguar found out what that does to sales.

Looks very promising. And with a M package – yummy!

You could never mistaken the 7 with the new 5 believe me. Although you could a 5GT with a 7 seven. I saw them side by side last week, they are very similar. Also all the technology is from the 7 series, which is not a bad thing. They should have named it 7GT, or a 7 for younger folks.

The new 5 looks great and I can´t wait to see it.

I don’t know… this looks less interesting than the 5GT, and almost as boring as the new 7 series. It’s far too subdued, it needs to be more muscular and aggressive.

The black car in the rear has to be the new 5, I donno what the heck the front one is. Hopefully it isn’t a 3.

Maybe this will change when the camo comes off, but this one looks like it has an odd side profile, maybe the elegance will come later, but I still prefer the mix of elegant and sporty/aggressive styling of the E60. The face of this car just seems to be :| and almost like the car is bored.

Hopefully this will change when the camo comes off, otherwise my money will be dropped into a new E60 M5 before they stop making them.

They unveiled so much this time, car looks great and indeed even its front is very different than that of 5 GT. 5 serie is closer and closer to be in BMW’s offert. Can’t wait on official details about this car, which is the most promising BMW at the moment.

I’m hoping BMW can find a way to balance the size of the different series. Like, is that a 2 or a 5? With the new model, I can see myself saying, “Wow! But is that a 5 or a 7?” I think they need to keep the series in the class and status where they belong.
