yawn..this car is a one off, obviously not intended for mass production. E9x is way too chunky for CLS prospects anyway. These days, BMW is willing to spend hundreds of millions to mass produce GT monstrosities with an M badge slapped on. A focused, light weight 3 does not seem to be their priority. Unfortunate.

As far as I know the GT4 has already been homologated from the current M3.

GT4 regulations don't really allow you to add much to the car that wasn't there already, most of the GT4 tech regs revolve around merely adding safety to the vehicle.. The engine, body work etc, in the GT4 class must remain the same as the road car from which the race car is homolgated (ie the current M3 model)

... I could be wrong though.

They have a GT2 M3, and a GT4... maybe they are going for a GT3 model as well, that does allow for more body work changes, and would put them in a more internationally recognised series (up against the Alpina B6 GT3 and the Audi R8 GT3)

IMO, this is more likely a CSL than a 'GT' model... but personally I don't think it's a CSL either.

So is this a tuned M3 with a wing or something revolutionary? Did this car beat the Nissan GT-R times on the NRing track? I would like to see this car with classic E39 M3 style fenders. The minute extra weight would be worth the aesthetics.
