As good as the M5 is, its not the king anymore.
So why not do this? Its a good move on paper by the PR people of GM.
Yeah good question about the RS6...but I dont think it sells in the states, right?

Go Mike, good luck. Will there be a video post when the M5 comes home the victor? I'd love to be there in person for this, is it opened to the public?

3 child seats in the rear? I didn't know that was possible. If they accompany CarGuyDad on the track, we definitely need Kid Cam g-force footage.

Now I haven't been keeping track of all of the numbers for the M5 vs the CTS-V but would an M5 with less options win? The M5 seems like it has smaller dimensions and therefore less curb weight, minus the honking v10 under the hood.

The king is BMW M5. Why? Just because it's M5. That means the best of all worlds.

Its not a fair competition..the CTS-V will win.i agree with Giom..this test should be done again in 2011 when the new M5 comes out...also it would be interesting if its done on a track rather than a straight line. lts see the CTS-V out performer the beemer then.

Sounds interesting, but what does the tests entail? And why enter it when you know the M5 is out gunned by the new car? What is there to gain?

Don't get me wrong, for me there is only the M5, but you know how the public is... un-informed.

Can we do this test again in two years time when the new M5 is on the street? Bob would probably not enter then...?

Ha, awesome, thanks. Again, the car belongs to my good friend Mike, and he will be driving, as per rules, which state that the car's owner must drive it.
