First rumors of a supersport version of the BMW 135i Coupe surfaced almost a year ago. While BMW has never confirmed its existence, several reports followed with some details regarding this model.
The 135i Supersport was said to be a performance addition to the 1 Series family, a vehicle using lightweight materials, such as a Carbon Fibre Roof and bootlid ,upgraded suspension and brakes, lightweight glass and all the creative and performance comforts created for the M variant, but not under full MotorSport badge.
Around the same time, sources close to BMW mentioned that a different body kit will differentiate the SuperSport 1 Series from the regular BMW Performance Package.
Almost a year later and some spy photos of a prototype, rumored to be the 135i Supersport, have been posted on 1addicts.
We’re not yet ready to jump to a full conclusion, so we will report on what we see in these photos. Clearly the prototype sports a carbon fiber roof, along with bigger fenders. The rear drilled brakes disk are also a clue that we’re looking at a higher-end sportier vehicle.
With the first test mules hitting the road, we expect to hear more news on this model in the upcoming months and of course, some new spy photos as well.

A freaking MEN! BMW seriously needs to bring the rain with this car.
That has just made my day!
Could be interesting. Weight savings that push the car to ~ 3,000 lbs, upgraded suspension, and possibly the rumored sequentially turbocharged four cylinder, or more likely, the N55B30 (first appearing in the 5er GT). It’ll be a bit noisier, rougher, quicker, and sharper handling. Wonder if it’ll have run-flats? ; -)
This is blasphemy! Not that BMW finally is doing something right… but the fact that the 1-series doesn’t get the full on M-treatment (cost reasons) but the silly X5 does.. I understand that an 1 series M won’t be popular costing probably more than 3 series cars but that’s what the M- division should build… just makes sense… while this car is cool and all it wil nevere be the hooligan it could have been with M-division suspension and limited slip diff…
If they make improved version of 1-serie, it would be one of the greatest car to drive. Hope that they indeed work on it.
So this will be like the E46 ZCP, but with more umph – Nice!
Hopefully the higher ups at BMW will consider a similar package for the E9X M3.
Word to BMW: If you build it, we will buy it! BUT, build it!
hey look at the rims they have an M badge
