BMW has released new videos of their latest super duper bike: S 1000 RR. The super beemer has the most horsepower and best power-to-weight ratio of all 1000 cc bikes available for the consumers. Some of you might have read our previous articles on the S 1000 RR Superbike, but in case you haven’t, here is a short recap.

BMW S 1000 RR Superbike is powered by a brand new water-cooled four-cylinder inline power unit which outputs 193 horsepower at 13,000 rpm and revving up to a maximum speed of 14,200 rpm. Maximum torque of 82.5 lb-ft of torque comes at 9,750 rpm, while only weighing 455.3 pounds with a full tank of gas. All engine components are compact and light, limiting weight of the overall engine without ancillaries to 59.8 kg (131.8 lb).

BMW S 1000 RR can be equipped with ABS and Dynamic Traction Control systems. As a curiosity, the ABS system weighs only 5.51 lbs. The new S 1000 RR is the lightest machine of its caliber displacing 999 cc and featuring ABS brakes.

Optional features include Optional DTC Dynamic Traction Control in conjunction with Race ABS for optimum performance.

Oh…almost forgot about the asymmetrical headlights which drives crazy some of the beemer fans, even though we kinda dig it.

I am so excited for this bike! I had a GSX-R750 which sadly was totalled 4 months after riding off the lot :( in an accident which was not my fault. but this bike is soo damn good looking especially from the side. and putting an Akrapovic exhaust on is a perfect match! aside from being a BMW it’s got killer specs. this will for sure be my next bike. the Ducatis are nice but you just can’t beat this performance and pricing! can’t wait to see a superbike shootout!

Thats one super bike… he he he! I used to ride the R1150RT – never was into fast bikes, but I can sure appreciate this monster.

    Nice vids!

  4. monte_cristo says:

Don’t worry, after you get one, the girls will come after it.

  5. X5 SoB says:

Yeah, that’s one tasty piece, and the bike’s pretty awesome too.

if i ever buy race bike this will be the one…will rossi buy one i wonder….

  7. Vitric says:

Oh man, I’d so buy one if I had the extra money… and if there was a BMW bike center nearby.

I don’t get why anyone would want to stick an Akrapovic or anything else on it until they have actually tried it. That’s just being a knee jerk (jerk the word of substance there)

Just enjoy the shear awesomeness of the bike as it is.

Akrapovic is probably thee best motorcycle exhaust manufacturer in the world! I’ve used their products as well as others. Another top notch manufacturer is Leo Vince. I wouldn’t hesitate at all to put on a Akrapovic exhaust.

You should actually look at the reasons why you would NOT keep the stock exhaust. For one, it’s made to be restrictive to pass noise and emissions tests. Why not put a more free flowing exhaust on your bike, especially during break in period, to help the engine breath better?!

Fits we the gammy eee like?

  10. Donald Horsebox says:

I agree with Nobbly. The front looks like sloth from the goonies. HAY YOU GUYS!!

this bike is off the chain!!! I learned to ride on a 2001 600cc suzuki velutia, not sure if i spelled that right. Anyway, then i gradualted to the Suzuke gsk-r 600, which was a perfect bike. It had enough power to kick ass once i got experienced enough, but was still great for someone new to superbikes. That puppy topped out at 165mph stock except for the Yoshi exhaust can I put on it. That bike was sadly stolen. I’m still pissed about that by the way 5 years later. I am now looking for a new bike. I have been researching for months now and cannot find a reason to get any other bike except for the bmw s 1000 rr. It is perfect, sexy, powerful, and stunning. MEchanically and aesthetically it is totally awesome. This will be my next bike………damn I think i am going to have wet dreams tonight about it……bmw has out done and out engineered everybody again……I wouldn’t expect anything less….: )

I did a test ride on this bike for a few hours. I don’t even like sport bikes, but this is the safest motorcycle I have ever felt. It’s as solid as a rock, and goes like a rocket.
I love it. I’m waiting for my chance at owning one.
    Trust me, it’s that good!
If you can deal with the fact that it’s geared low, and the engine likes to whine, you’ll love it. I use it for a physical and psychological workout. It cleans my spirit and relieves my daily stress. Only wish the insurance companies weren’t trying to charge me $1200 a year in insurance.
