Our German editor at BimmerToday, found something interesting buried down in a German press release issued a few days ago: the 2010 BMW X6, September built, will receive for the first time, an M Sport Package. And even more exciting, BMW has finally announced that the 2010 BMW X5 and X6 models will be receiving the new iDrive controller and the Drive logic including the hard drive and USB port.
The X6 M Sport Package will focus not only on the exterior appearance, but also on increasing the engine performance. The M Package is exclusively reserved for the gasoline powered models. The BMW X6 xDrive35i will get 20 horsepower extra which will bring the total power to 326 horsepower.
The already powerful X6 xDrive50i will receive a significant power upgrade: 40 ponies to a total of 449 horsepower.
BMW X6 M is represented in this photo and not the actual M Sport Package
The M Package can only be combined with the two exterior colors: Alpine White and Titanium Silver. The package also comes with 20″ black wheels. Other components of the X6 M Sport Package are: BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line, black painted mirror caps, tailpipes with black color accents, Alcantara sport seats and Anthracite roof lining.
No pricing has been announced at this time.
The new iDrive is mentioned on page 8 of this German press release.
