Straight from the press release, we have more details on the new BMW X1. Many of you have patiently waited to find out more about the engine offerings in the X1 family and we were able to give you a preview of that just a few days ago.

But now, courtesy of BMW, we have all the information you have ever asked.

Straight-six gasoline engine with composite magnesium/aluminium crankcase, VALVETRONIC and dual-VANOS
Capacity: 2,996 cc, max output: 190 kW/258 hp at 6,600 rpm
Max torque: 310 Nm/228lb-ft from 2,600 – 3,000 rpm
Acceleration 0–100 km/h: 6.8 sec
Top speed: 205 km/h (127 mph)
(230 km/h or 143 mph with optional high-speed set-up)
