I love the design of the new Z-4, but the windshield rakes back at such an angle that when I drive the car the vision towards the top of the windshield doesn’t feel open enough to me: I’m looking at the header instead of the road. The feel in the cockpit seems wide enough, and the roof isn’t too low, but the visual openness where the top of the windshield meets the frame above it gives me a slight feeling of claustrophobia. We’ll keep our 06 X-3 and, though I want to replace my 01 525i, it won’t be for the Z-4 for this reason. Guess I’ll wait for the 2011 funfer. Jim

Also looking forward to seeing your review mate. Like Giom I’ve also heard that this Z4 may have lost its playfulness…although seeing those adverts of it sliding around in paint sure make me want to buy one!

I am curious to read your impressions… it seems that a lot of other writers are struggling to get to grips with the long nose/seat back position. I’ve read a lot of reviews where the consensus was that the new Z4 is no fun around bends.

IS THIS TRUE?
