Shanghai Auto Show is the perfect opportunity for all the automarkers to showcase their latest, best and most expensive automobiles. While the U.S. market and not only, has been severely suffering from the economy donwnturn, the auto sales in the Chinese market have climbed five percent in March and it represents the only market where …..cars are still selling well.

BMW saw an opportunity in these and decided to bring the “big players”, in this case, the all new, high-end flagship BMW 760Li and of course, the “second twin”, the highly-awaited – by some- BMW X5 M. Insiders close to BMW have told us in the past few months that the main reason why we’re still seeing a 760 powered by a 6.0 liter V12 engine, is the….you guessed it right….the growing Chinese auto market and the need for high-end luxury vehicles. Hey, all these young millionaires need to live large, right?

And to throw in a bonus, BMW also brought out the recently released, a bit controversial, 5 Series GT, another BMW attempt at capturing the auto luxury market. Will we see a fleet of 5er GTs acting as hotel transporation vehicles? Possible, especially since BMW has said many times that they expect companies to complete their auto fleet with the new, luxurious, spacious but still fun to drive, 5GT.

Oh wait, before I’ll let you watch the video showing you all these vehicles I talked about, how could I have forgotten about the Rolls Royce Ghost, the baby Rolls ready to take on the luxury world.

china sucks , low quality of life and everything , the reason for a 760 v12 is not chinese auto market , thats the biggest bullshit ever

“china sucks , low quality of life and everything , the reason for a 760 v12 is not chinese auto market , thats the biggest bullshit ever”

Actually compare China to the recent New York autoshow for a more detailed approach to priorities. China – Four Premieres – two – BMW X5M and BMW 760Li , two asian premieres – BMW 7er Active hybrid , BMW 5er GT Concept. Why wasn’t the X5 and 760Li debuted in New York? Why did they not debut the GT Concept in New York? Why is the BMW display in China – three times larger than New York?

The reason is that there are markets initially that are doing better than their core markets so not just BMW but other Premium manufacturers are moving their focus towards more growth markets that is why the facelifted S-Klasse also debuted in China.
In 2007 the largest market for Rolls-Royce was the USA , in 2008 it’s now the Middle East.

I hear the 760li sells well in China.

But something really cool, was Porsche.

They were going to show the Panermera on the 94th floor of the Shanghai Financial Center, and they strapped it on a pallet which was tilted and sent up through the freight elevator. :D
