After the Acura ZDX official launch at the New York Auto Show, many of the auto journalists began to compare the first Acura “SUV coupeish” vehicle to the already established BMW X6 Sports Activity Coupe. Of course, we jumped on the same bandwagon and wrote an article about the ZDX Concept as NOT being a major threat to BMW.
Sure, we might be call biased, fanboys, you name it, but we can certainly tell you that our assessment has not been affected by the love we carry for our lovely bimmers. Now of course, since you’re a tough crowd, you might not take our word for it, so we decided to give you a visual comparison between the two vehicles, from different angles.
To make this comparison even more realistic, we decided to leave out the artistic official photos and stick to the “real life” ones from auto shows. For now, we will refrain from any more assessments and would like to let you express your opinions, regardless of which car or brand you favor.

The Acura isn’t an ugly design, but X6 for me please.
Two iterations of crap – from any angle.
The Acura looks like a boat. The “power plenum” grille is a massive styling failure. What is the last Honda/Acura that could really be considered beautiful? I can’t remember either…
That Acura must have the ugliest grille ever.
@229ra12: That grille needs to go, no doubt! The car might have potential, but some changes are needed.
Looks like the BMW is stodgy, Acura is a fresh face. The Acura family face and folded lines grow on me with each look!!
@Davud: I do agree with you… BMW face is just getting boring. Acura’s face is catching me…
Although the Acura grille is, at best, an acquired taste- having seen both cars at the show I would have to vote for it anyway. The Acura appeared to be low, powerful, and sleek, while the X6 appeared tall, narrow, and cluttered. I would guess that the X6 might be better to drive though.
