After a long wait and several delays, the first MINI E vehicles have reached U.S ports. As we mentioned back in February, due to the high demand, MINI USA decided to delay the delivery of first electric vehicles to U.S customers.
There were over 1,800 people that have applied for a MINI E lease with only 450 vehicles available in California, New Jersey and New York.
At $850 per month, the MINI E is far from being affordable to everyone, but the thrill of having one of the first and few electric MINIsĀ in the U.S, is far higher.
Sixteen dealerships in these States will be responsible for the lease and service during the one year trial period. Eight of them are located in the Los Angeles area.
The folks at Revenge Of The Electric Car spotted the MINIs at what it seems to be the BMW Vehicle Preparation Center in California.
Judging from the photos, it is just a matter of time until the first MINI E will roll down the L.A streets.
