And the moment has arrived, the first spy photos of the 2010 BMW 5 Series in the final evaluation phase(FEP) are finally here.
After months of waiting and tens of spy photos showing heavy camouflaged test mules, the fellows at Automobile-Magazine.fr have finally spotted the new 5 Series sporting the now famous pattern camouflage.
The model seen in these photos is the Wagon variant which will be launched next Spring. For the first time, we can see the front-grille, along with small sections of the headlights.
The front-bumper is also identical to the one leaked onto the web a few months back, so no surprise there. The “kidneys” are larger than the ones in the current generation 5 Series and it seems to match the ones seen in the recent renderings we have posted on here.
The rear-end is covered pretty well, so not much can be seen there, but I’m sure we will see clearer photos soon.

Looking gooooooooooooood!!!!!!!!
Isn’t this the 2011 model? I think the titles are confusing because the 2010 5-series is still the E60.
@Jason,
no confusion. Since it will be released in early 2010, we called it ‘10 even though the production year will be 2011. As soon as we move towards the end of the year, we’ll start calling it 2011 so it eliminates confusion. I guess it’s confusing already
I know you got it right, but calling it a 2010 is perpetuating confusion. Check out bimmerfest E60 forum, just today a few folks posted they were surprised the 2010 M5 is still an E60.
Just a quick check at CarAndDriver indicates they’re calling it a 2011. Latest heading for example: “2011 BMW 5-Series – Spied”
Aside from this nitpick… thanks for providing one of the best online resources for the latest BMW news!
