@Carlos Perez: Yes. The only cars produced in Spartanburg are the X5 and X6, so they would be the only ones to import. I just hope that we get to achieve a FTA with the EU so then we can get cheap bmw's.

@Martin: The same here in mexico, but you could import the x5 LOL i think it is made in the USA, or import one BMW directly from Germany

The difference is AMAZING. The m3 is around 56k in the US versus the 130k in peru. Because of this it may be better to import it, but i wouldn’t really know. Even now with the FTA between the US and Peru it’s the same because the m3 is produced in Germany, and the FTA only takes into account products produced directly in US soils.

Actually i don’t know for certanty but, you will have to pay the local tax that is called ISAN that its 15% price of the vehicle (without USA tax) + the cost of importation +………
giving you a grand total of more less 35% of the cost of the car, + the cost of the car + about 2-3 moths of your time , but the good part is that u don’t paid the USA tax, is something kind of a mail in rebate you paid it and then they give it back to you.

This isn’t 100% accurate, it just and idea.

WOW, those prices are insane guys. I guess we have it good here in the U.S. Can someone for example, Mexico, buy the car in the U.S and export it there? What are the taxes associated with that?

The m3 in mexico is 89 k (USD) and this it will be around 110 -130 k (also USD) which is expensive but i think a car with this caracteristic should be.

108k – that is cheap for such an amazing vehicle, sorry, the best stock SUV no question about that. However with options expect the price to be around 120-130k Euros.
