Update: Many sites and forums broke the media embargo posting a full PDF of the press release. We decided to hold off till “all is clear”
As expected, the first official photos of the BMW X6 M have been leaked a day prior to the release date. This time, Carscoop has the “scoop” and brings us the first marketing photos of the X6 M, true, not in the best quality, but this will do for a few hours when we expect more photos to come out.
And no surprise there, the front fascia looks exactly as we expected, with an aggressive front bumper with the large air-intakes. The side air-vents that we have seen yesterday are there of course as any M car. The rear end spots the expected dual-twin exhaust pipes that we have been guessing for months now.
BMW X6 M seems to be sitting on a lower suspension, a sportier version of the one found on the regular model.
Inside, the X6M features sport seats, an M branded shifter with the electronic hand brake and a new steering wheel with shift paddles.
Due to the lower quality of these photos, we can’t see any other M branded design elements, but we’ll get back to that once we get a hold of new higher quality photos.
What I find interesting is the color choices chosen for the marketing photos, I have honestly expected to see a silver or darker color, but hey….this will do for now.
With the embargo broken by some sites, more information will most likely be revealed early tomorrow.

I was expecting an Alpine White X6 M. Is that a DCT tranny because I think the M3 DCT had the same shift knob as the SMG ?
I’m pretty sure it has DCT…
Dear M-fans this marks the end of N/A M-cars from now on you will only see Turbocharged and automatic cars.This is very very sad to me.
True, but I have faith those turbos, more efficient, same power
Not in love about the rims, and i wish that the side vents were bigger, i mean u can hardly see them
@L1ndja: word.
Hopefully it looks better in other colors and with nicer wheels.
Large wheels will go better with the overall look. I’m sure they will be offered as an option
Thought there’ll be more “spicing-up” of the back and front. Doesnt look any more fabulous but it should be more of even a bad boy than the normal X6. BMs normally look better in real life though.
So, any bet on the price? I change my initial number, I would say 92k for the X6 M.
So you are saying that you are comfortable posting some embargoed pics all over this post but that you are holding onto some other information (PDF) and are unwilling to post that. Makes alot of sense *coughbullshitcough*
BTW, nice post about the Geely, on its own its a fair post about a knockoff design, but your racist undertone continues. The news about that car was about a week old, but you suddenly decided to post it yesterday, why? To try to make some sort of commentary and response to me? I guess so, but it belies the fact that you are a rotten to the core racist.
And with this post, I see you are a racist AND a liar.
@Alex,
First, I don’t hold the PDF, others do. Second, BMW was aware of the sites that broke the embargo 8 hours ago, but that’s another story.
As far as the racism thing again….only in your imagination. First of all, we don’t post all the news as they come out, there were others more important, second, if I get to a point where I have to watch what car photos I post not to offend people, then it’s sad. I was just about to post a video of an X5 stuck in mud and being pulled out by a horse carriage. Is that racism or profiling people that live in Eastern Europe?
Let’s move on Alex or stick around and find out that there is no profiling or defamatory articles on our blog. I could have simply deleted your comments, as other blogs would have done, but there are still here, aren’t they? That should tell you something.
P.S If you need more info about the X6 M, either search the web or come back tomorrow.
@Horatiu B.:
sorry about the X6M what exactly happen????
@Carlos Perez: Nothing nothing
Just the press release PDF is coming tomorrow, there is a press embargo on it and we’re hoping to get it tomorrow as well, it’s not in our inbox yet.
In the mean time, let’s enjoy the photos. If you have more questions Carlos, feel free to contact me through the Contact Menu.
@Horatiu B.:
LOL at least i already read it LOL thxn and good luck
BTW completely understand i know how much responsibility is to publish that .
Yeah, many sites have the press release now, but we’re being responsible and we’ll wait. I honestly don’t think there are many secrets about the X5 M and X6 M. Everything has been said in the past few months, it’s true and the videos revealed by BMW in the past, clarified many unknowns.
Our blog does well by publishing a variety of articles, not necessarily just breaking news
We’re a one stop-shot for our BMW “fix” LOL
Thanks again for the great comments Carlos, always appreciate it.
So, how much do you think it’ll cost?
@Horatiu B.:
mmm my bet around 95 k for the X6 and 88-89 for the X5 hopefully, so that here in Mexico arrive around 120 k
@Carlos Perez: How are the X6s selling there in general?
72k for the 3.0 TT and 82K for the V8 but they also have more equipment compare to the ones there in the USA.
Oh man… (that’s all I’m gonna say, seeing that the price point is gonna be…. well…. high as all hell. lol). I will just admire from afar….
@Horatiu B.:
my mistake 88k for the v8
@Carlos + Horatiu: If only BMWs in my country were as cheap as yours. We must pay $70k for a 320i with basis standard.
@Jag:
Where are u from???? and is that in USD?????
because it is man that’s expensive
@Carlos: I’m Vietnamese. And yup, you’re right, that’s too much expensive. Because of high tax rates, cars are luxury commodities in my country.
