As we suspected and hinted in a few of our previous articles, the BMW X6 M has been confirmed to debut at the New York Auto Show next month. One of sources confirmed this a couple of weeks ago along with the fact that the “twin brother” BMW X5 M will be present as well.
Today, Motor Trend received official confirmation from BMW, but only regarding the X6 M. With the official unveiling scheduled for the first week in April, I don’t see any reason why both would not present together at the NYC Auto Show.
The X M models (sounds kinda silly, I know) are powered by a tuned up V8 4.4 liter Twin Scroll Twin Turbo engine, outputting 550 horsepower. The M SAVs will feature an improved all-wheel-drive system, but in order to reflect the true M performance, it will offer a more rear-concentrated approach.
Technology from the 7 Series, like the Head Up Display or Adaptive Drive will be standard on the BMW X5 M and X6 M.
That’s all the news for now, but as always, stay tuned for more information coming up next week.

Awsome.. BTW changing the subject, do you now anything about the X6 competitor from Acura???
@Carlos: I have seen some photos of that Acura. Not very clearly but they have imitated our X6 shape. And the rear doors, like many other Japanese cars, just cut through the window frame. It’s up to your eyes, but to me, that’s imperfect.
@Jag:
is there any way U can send them to me ???? or u have the link???
that would be awesome please.
@Carlos: Actually I have only seen it on an auto website in my country. Just some teasing pics from Acura… u can see it here http://autopro.channelvn.net/20090317103911956ca2430/acura-moi-an-theo-bmw-x6.chn#a -> forget the language, just focus on the pics
(they also posted a X6’s pic for comparision)
@Carlos: Okay, here’s the high quality pics from Acura http://www.acura.com/FutureVehicles.aspx#/FutureVehiclesCUV
Thanks for the photos Jag! I’ll use them for a comparison article as well.
@Jag:
Thxn dude really appreciated .
BTW the fkn copy the X6 but took all the presence, the power, i mean all the lines that make it look muscular, at least that’s what i appreciate at the hood.
