The 2011 BMW 6 Series test mule has been spotted again in the snowy Scandinavian region. Usually around this time of the year, most of the future BMW products are undergoing heavily testing in snowing conditions and the sporty 6 Series makes no exception.
Built on the F13 platform, the 2011 BMW 6 Series will not suffer any drastic changes but we know that it will import design cues from the beautiful CS Concept and even the new Z4. What we briefly learned was that the headlights will be similar to the ones on the CS Concept, which is good news for the die hard CS fans and also a larger front-grille.
The wheelbase of the new BMW 6 Series is slightly longer than the current generation with the clear scope of offering more interior room. The Z4 and new 7 represent the return of the driver oriented cockpit and the new 6 will follow the same path.
Even though the photos show us a soft top roof on this test mule, we know 100% that the a hardtop will be final choice, especially since it will use the same parts as the 3 Series Convertible. We did fall once for the soft top/hardtop being offered concurrent on the new Z4, but we did our homework better this time.

As far as the engine offerings, rumors say that there will be three engines options with power ranging from 306, 408 to 507 horsepower, most likely the M6 taking the most powerful engine. The award winning twin-turbo six cylinder will definitely be part of the line-up, but we do expect a V8 twin-turbo as well.

So I assume that since the Z4 hardtop had no coupe brother, this 6 series won’t have a coupe brother too right ?
Is the 6 even a successful model for BMW? Anyone know anything about that?
