No thanks. It may handle better but the exterior design breaks no new ground. Plus, BMW continues the limit the ability of US customers to tailor cars to personal preference, unlike the ROW. To wit, the only way to get comfort access on a new 7-Series is to buy the Convenience Pkg to the tune of $1,700, which incidently includes soft-close doors, a feature I view as negative. Somebody needs to sit the marketing guys in NJ down and have a serious talk with them about their abject failure at second-guessing US customers.

I think the 750i will be faster than the official times. The official 0-60mph time for the X6 50i with the same engine is 5.3 sec, and is known to have clocked 4.8s in some test. With the official time of the 750i posted at 5.2 sec, I believe it could be in the high 4 seconds.

MBenz claim, a sub-5 second 0-60 for the S63, however if you search on EdmundsInsideline you can find an article about their review for the car.

When they tested it they only got a 5.2 second 0-60.

Horatiu, could you forward this review the the fellows at autocar.co.uk please. This review gives the seven plusses where they gave it minusus…? They concluded that the old car was still better, quieter and more agile.

Ummmm yeah that’s odd. The S63 AMG clocks 0-60mph in 4.5 seconds, according to mbusa’s website.
The S550 is 5.4 seconds, so the 750i is only 0.2 second faster.
