The new 2009 BMW Z4 made its European debut at the Geneva Auto Show and interesting enough, BMW decided to bring out a new color on the showroom floor. We have seen the worldwide debut in Detroit, where a stunning Deep Sea Blue Z4 was displayed. Then we went to Chicago, where we saw the Titanium Silver Z4 and now, in Geneva, the Z4 is sporting the Havana exterior color.
Compared to the previous generation Z4 which sold very well in the U.S, BMW is focusing more on the European market as well, where they need to increase their sales and hopefully, convert some SLK and TT drivers. Will be tough? Absolutely, especially since the new Audi TT RS was just unveiled, but we have no doubt that the new Z4 will do even better than before, especially since it is one of the best looking BMWs to date, considering the interior and the exterior design.
Add to this package the amazing 3.0 liter twin-turbo engine, and we have a winner.

yes yes, good color, can’t wait to feel how it drives compared to the current z4
Kind of OT for this post but you did mention the TT RS…
I find it interesting that as BMW drop the Z4 coupe the vast majority of the TT RS press shots are of the coupe version.
I suppose we’ll find out at the end of the year whose got their market research right.
It’s the color I would choose on most other cars (such as mine), just not the Z4. The color just seems to muted and subtle for such an aggressive design.
Can you choose the grille and exterior trim colors, or are they part of the color “option”? For example, the deep sea blue z4 comes with a matte silver grille.
Doug, the color of the grill depends on the engine, the sdrive23i and sdrive30i come with black slats while the sdrive35i comes with a chrome grill. I guess that when the z4 starts selling dealers will be able to offer the black grill as an option.
By the way, havanna is a beautiful color.
