Updated with new photo: Many renderings of the 2011 BMW 5 Series have been going around for a while, some closer to the real deal than others. Many believed that the next 5 Series will be taking lots of design elements from the bigger brother, 7 Series, and they came up with a scaled down version of the 7er.
Obviously, they were wrong. Historically, the BMW 5 Series was never considered the 7er little sibling and this is NOT about to change now. But what we can tell you for sure is that the 2011 BMW 5 Series will indeed combine several design cues from other models, starting with the canceled CS Concept, the new 5 Series GT and the 2009 BMW 7 Series.
So, by collecting all the information we posted in the last few months and with the huge help from the leaked photo of the 5 Series, we decided to ask our friend Andy Valencia to draw a new rendering for us.
While the production model might suffer some design modifications, we believe that the front-end is not far from the real deal. As things develop and new information will come in, we’ll make sure to update the rendering and include rear-end shots as well.

mmm… i dont know… something’s not right
Those lines down the center of the hood look off…
I like, but i like more of the current one, but i’m curious about the back =D Just can’t wait to see the oficial presentation
i think the fogg lights and the grille where they are, are to big

I think it looks pretty good, so far. Yes, I get what people are saying about the lines in the center of the hood but it doesn’t seem to pronounced to bother me. Its certainly an aggressive look and I actually like that.

It looks like it is alive, staring at me and waiting to take a bit of me!!! Nice though, I think I am getting used to the big nostrils, which is better looking on this car tha the 7.
@L1ndja: The lights will definitely have an L-shape, maybe not as high as the 7 Series.

Does anyone know if the 2011 BMW 5 4.4 twin turbo V8 will come with X-Drive?
this is a dopecar great combination, just over all its going to be a great car . cant wait till it comes out bcuz i own a 5 series myself
hmmm..i think its not dat beautiful as the current 5 series…i think it is becoz of the grille it’s too big i guess..but still i love bmw…hahaha

BMW must release F10 now as MY2010, otherwise MB has one year headstart. And BMW must lower the price as MB did on the E-class.
I don’t like it too much, it look pretty much like the new 7 series, i mean is not ugly but i think they should be different, because if not it will get boring pretty fast.
