If you mean the badge above the kidneys and on the trunk, then you are completely wrong. All Alpinas have a BMW-roundel on there, at least all original Alpinas. Everything else is fake. The Alpina-sign above the kidneys and on the trunk has been installed by some people, but it is not an original part. You find this thing only on the steering wheel and perhaps on the seats in cars that are 100% original.

Does anyone know what the deal is with the badging on Alpinas? I always thought Alpinas were exclusively badged with the Alpina logo, but it does seem like some Alpinas have BMW badging as well.

Actually the 173 mph are a step backwards for Alpina. They used to be totally unlimited until now… So the old B7 ran over 300 kph and the new one is limited to 280, not really an advantage ;-)
