Since I posted the article on the BMW Art Cars being displayed at the Los Angeles Country Museum of Art(LACMA), I have been receiving emails asking for more photos, higher quality official shots. So, I had no choice but to start the “hunt” for new wallpapers.
I was anyway in need of a new set of wallpapers so this turned out to be fun. As a refresher, the BMW Art Car Project was started by the French racecar driver Herve Poulain in 1975. His first idea was to have his BMW racing car painted in an unique way.
The next stop after L.A is New York City, so if you live in the area, I cannot emphasize more the opportunity that you’re having to see some of the most amazing BMWs ever……
I hope you enjoy these photos and I promise we will be back with more.

Just looking at the 8 series and the E36 coupe reminded me how good they looked. I also liked their Le Mans racer.
Will BMW make art cars of their current models later on ?
great pics, i just hate these letters on the side
@Gord: Most likely…Z8 will definitely be in there…but all the others as well…I wanna see the M3 GTR as an Art Car
On a similar note, if anyone knows where to find a decent wallpaper-size image of the flying BMW 3.0CSL driven Hans Stuck at the Nurburgring it would be much appreciated.
