The X6 style in all sizes will be the new BMW’s. Purist will moan and groan and swear never to buy another BMW and for everyone of them BMW will acquire 4 new customers.

I remember folks groaning that the 2002 was perfect and there was no reason for BMW to do a 3 series.

@mathis: I know dude and you are right that they would have wasted some million if not billion Euros but all im saying is that they should have kept going with the CS not stop it.Many automakers are making such cars like Audi(A7),MB(the new CLS),Porsche(Panamera),even Aston Martin...They shouldnt have given up on the CS!

Its a bit harsh to blame BMW for risking to much in these times. 5 GT & 3 GT were developed over a span of at least 5 years – they could have stopped their market release 2 years ago, but to be honest 2 years ago the situation was not as bad as it is now. If they stop the release now they would have simply wasted a few billion €uros of development costs.

To be honest I don’t think its that risky both cars will share a lot of parts with other BMWs (3, 5, 7, X6) so the extra cost & risk is small.

Just when we thought BMW couldn’t get any uglier they come with some Mazda hatchbacks with BMW badges.

I guess they will test just how much crap their loyal buyers will buy lol.

Well Bmw is risking a lot in these tough times and i really am starting to worry about them..I just hope they wont do anything stupid..
PS:Why didn’t the risk on the CS as well it wouldn’t have been as risky as the 5GT because it would have made more sense back then and even now,if they had continued im sure the CS would have been probably revealed and now ready to go on sale..

This is just a bit risky! In these tough times, BMW is still doing such a thing? Just don’t cry for bail outs a few months down the line, please.. the world cannot be without BMWs. I think BMW is going to take custoemrs away from their own current products, obviously from other rival brands as well.maybe that’s their point

At least in Europe they will never replace the Tourings with the GT, here they will sell both. People here crave the practicality and looks of the Touring.

In the US market, where at least I almost never see a Touring – the GT might be an option in replacing and growing the Touring market…

bmw 3 gt i cant wait!!!!!!if it gonna look like that renderings that i saw i would buy one 4 sure! but i would like to see bmw 1 sedan based on current model with rear lights like one on the 1er coupe,that would be awesome….but 1 gt ?whats that about?

Oh God, not another crossover……The 5 GT is okay….but not so sure about a 3 GT. I mean, what’s the point really? X1, X3, 3er Wagon….

Are you saying they already have a V3 concept car ready? This must be a real concept and not just a production ready prototype with funky wing mirrors.

I really think BMW is onto something here.

Was just wondering if the 5GT could cut into 7-series sales?
