One of the biggest complaints I have heard about the launch of the new BMW 5 Series GT was that every concept released lately by BMW suffer from the same issue: a not very attractive exterior color.
We’ve seen the 7 Series sporting a similar color as the 5er GT and also, the X1 Concept in that crazy yellow paint. The new BMW 5 Series GT made no exception and it was sporting a color that, I believe, doesn’t bring out the best of it.
But with the help of a quite talented artist, Andy Valencia from GCZ, we have some of the official 5 Series GT photos, in a gray exterior paint.
All of a sudden the design lines seem to flow a bit better and the paint reflection brings out some of the fine details masterminded by BMW designers
What do you think? I personally believe the car would look great in a black color.

When will the 5-series GT be available for order?
Now that’s a car!!! that gold or bronze color is thw worst thing to put in that car. the grey is much better
Eh. Not a big fan of silver/gray and the one million shades of it. Give me white or black. Or for a vehicle this unique, it decidedly needs a unique color. BMW already has way too many silver/grey/darkgrey variations anyway. Some eye-popping colors would be nice once in a while.
now we r talking!!!
Seriously – let’s not hate. This car looks way better than the A7. Same idea.
@bunker: obviously
@all: those golden shades you hate make the design more significant. that’s why they are often used on concepts. when you buy a production car, you can choose whatever color you like
