With all the hype around the BMW 5 Series GT launch, it could be easy for us to lose focus and forget about the other upcoming BMW models, but since we’re such great bimmer lovers, that won’t happen on our watch.
So, we are back with the weekly spy photos of the upcoming BMW X5 M, another controversial idea coming out of the Munich factory gates. The X5 M and X6 M subjects have been debated by us many times and while some people love the idea of a Motorsport version of the popular Sports Activity vehicle, there are many others that are not embracing the idea of having anĀ M badge on a…truck – ok, not really truck, but you get my drift.
What do we know about the X5 M so far? The BMW X5 M will be powered by a modified version of the twin-turbo 4.4 liter V8 engine, rumored to output between 550 and 580 horsepower, enough to compete with the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S and ML63 AMG.
We also know that the BMW X5 M will sport the same headlights as the X6 model and it feature the same fascia as its twin brother, X6 M. These are things that we pretty much knew s o far, right?
Well, here is something new today. We have the first photo of the interior and we can see some changes in there as wel. The X6’s knee-pads for driver and passenger seem to be making their way into the X5 M as well. Sources say that many interior design elements from the M3 will be available as well, starting with the M steering wheel, M cluster and leather trim specific for M cars.
I hope these information and photos satisfy your curiosity for now, but do expect some more shots and information within the next few weeks.
