Gerard - just having the performance upgrade fitted to my 135i after driving it on a track day - and you're right - it is absolutely blinding BUT... BMW insurance now say they won't insure the car! Did you have any trouble? Who are you insured with? Any help/advice would be appreciated.

I have just had the performance upgrade fitted to my 335i coupe, it is absolutely blinding!!!, the power increase is immediately noticeable and as as smooth as the origonal car, it has an extra radiator, air intake and upgraded fan as well as a two year extended warranty, not as cheap as an aftermarket re-map but for peace of mind there is no debate. The increase in power, although on paper seems on the low side is well ballanced and the car pulls to 140mph in no time with no tail off of power. In my opinion money well spent and would recomend to anyone.
Beany's comment that its an absolute rip off is not valid, the kit you get inc warranty and a car that feels like it has at least 375hp under the bonnet is worth the price.

And what's the 535i, chopped liver? Come on BMW.

The big question is whether this upgrade will be 3x the price and 1/3 the power boost that could be had with an aftermarket flash....

It's about time!! So, is this a ZHP option?

As far as I know, the performance exhaust option is only for acoustics, they give no performance benefit over the standard one. I think the 3's previous exhaust upgrade included 4-pipe exhausts, 2 for higher rpm resonance and some kind of valve to engage them.

@8er: Very good question. I'm assuming that will capitalize on that in a couple of years, when they can say that the Z4 facelift gets a more powerful engine as well.

Therefore, sales can be increased

So why couldn't they offer it also for a Z4 Sdrive35i, when they already had that upgraded engine in new 7-series?
Actually i think that they should offer this as a standard for all models with the same engine, atleast for a next model year.
