BMW X5 Facelift First Spy Shots

With the latest BMW X5 model being launched in 2007, the facelift version was destined to show up this year, with sales starting in 2010. The photos of the X5 facelift spotted by our friends at GlobalMotors, are showing us a slightly different version of the X5.

A quick glance at the X5 Facelift, tells me that the X5 will receive the front fascia from the X6, similar to the X5 M and its counterpart. The headlights seem also to be identical to the ones on the X6.

At the rear there are new taillights similar to the 3er sedan and a slightly taller ride.

Nothing else to report at the moment, but we’ll keep an eye open for more information on the X5 Facelift.

I don’t see any difference from my e70. The 2nd pick looks as if it sits taller…but I know BMW wouldn’t change the ride height mid-body-style. Tail lights look identical to my 2008. Someone else seeing anything different here?

Im with BMW sales here. Dont see any changes in the back lights. And the front lights are not idential to the X6’s but are more like the current ones with more smoothened out lines, like the X6 but not identical, it still has the big chunky sides. The clear main difference will be the front bumper.

and is the X5M going to be the faclifted version?? They are due to be 6 months apart so it must be. It would be silly for customers to by one otherwise, why pay a primium only to have a revised one come 6 moths later…..resale…..

@Horatiu B.: I like that photo because it definitely shows a different ride height. I wonder if BMW is bringing back “Adjustable Ride Height” that they phased out when they sold Land Rover off. This is a very interesting photo! Thanks Horatiu

@Josh B: Exactly, do they want to launch the M for 6 months, then have a facelift X5? Remember what happened to the M3?
