Geneva Auto Show is announcing to be an exciting place and one of the best shows of the year. We already know BMW will unveil some new models there, we just learned that Alpina will bring the B6 and B7 models and the German sports carmaker, Wiesmann, is bringing their latest anniversary model, GT MF4-S.
Nothing special so far, some of you might think, but what if I will tell you that the GT MF4-S is powered by the powerful 4.0 liter V8 engine from the new M3. Outputting 420 hp and including a standard six-speed manual or a new dual-clutch, the M3 engine improves the power from the previous MF4 model (367 hp) which was powered by the 4.8 liter V8 from the 550i or the X5 4.8iSA.
A lot of the options on the Wiesmann are customized for the customer and their name engraved.
But who is Wiesmann?
Many BMW fans might not be familiar with the brand, so let me share with you little bit of its history. Wiesmann is an automobile manufacturer in Germany. The company was founded in 1985 by the brothers Martin Wiesmann and Friedhelm Wiesmann. The cars are manufactured by hand in Dülmen. The Wiesmann logo portrays a gecko, as Wiesmann cars “stick to the road like geckos to a wall”.

“GT MF4-S is powered by the powerful 4.9 liter V8 engine from the E9x series M3″
Is it actually from the M3 or the E39 M5 ?
The M3 engine is a 4.0 L and the M5 is a 5.0 L isn´t?
The Wiesmann’s are very good looking. Very classic design.
Updated guys! Sorry. It was the M3 engine, the previous MF4 was powered by the older M5 engine, 4.8liter
This is bit confusing, but I think the 4.8 V8 is the one you get on the 550i or X5 4.8. I thought the old M5 engine made ~ 400 hp.
@Gord: I’m doing more research. I remember seeing the news last year about the regular MF4 and it mentioned the 4.8 V8 engine.
aaaand not available in the US
@Gord: It was the one used in the 550i or the X5 4.8iSA
I LOVE THE WIESMANN. ive loved it ever since it was on top gear, my dream car.
I think I’d rather have it with the S54, personally. A car like that really needs an inline 6, even at the sacrifice of a few hp.
