U are 100 right, my dad drives a 06 750Li Individual aswell and neither him, my mum nor my dad have any, ANY trouble using it. It has never even been a discusion topic. My mum has a 650 convertible and she is the last person from tech savy but she works the I drive as well as i do. All this bull around it, Mercedes have it and so do Audi, yet BMW still takes all the flack. Cant wait till my dad gets his new 750Li!!!

@Gord: I have no idea how they can compare the new 7 with the old one, as far as driving goes. Every single person that drove the car told me that it's extremely different and improved. Last year, when the 7 was being tested in South Africa, I was told that the dynamics and performance is what will separate the new 7er from the S-Klass.

Owned an ‘03 745li and currently driving an ‘06 750li and I have to say that anyone that had difficulty with the iDrive system has problems. It is not the best system I have used (Range Rover touchscreen), but it is still better than most (LS460).

I can’t wait for the new F01, unfortunately, the first batch are sold out at my local dealership.

@mpower: yeah, Tom Ford is an idiot, he had a terrible review of the 645Ci when that came out and then the same for the 335i coupe. I think he's more concerned with his haircut than he is the driving experience, I think Fifth Gear would be better suited to only feature Jason Plato and Tiff Needel as they're the most qualified on that show to discuss ride quality and driving experience.

also watch all the other car makers start copying the side cameras from the new 7 series just like they copy everything from the bmw

bmw sets all the standarts, everyone else follows

like the shark fin antenna the bmw started…now every car has it…smh

Hrmm… I’m still content with my 1997 E38 740iL… haven’t felt the need to trade it for a newer generation (and their odd styling).

Haven’t driven the F01 yet, if ever, but the E65 was a blast to drive. My family had one then my ex’s parents had 2 while we were together, all of which I got to drive and once the E65 was opened up a a quiet back road, it was incredibly agile and fast for a car of it’s girth. Maybe me almost as happy as tossing around and E38.

I really hope the F01 didn’t lose that feeling.

Most British journalists havn’t exactly given this new 7er flying colors. I read that it wasn’t comfortable.

Top Gear’s Tom Ford (Whom works for Fifth Gear ? :S)

The new Seven doesn’t seem to have the driving talent of the old one. The steering has a weird bobble to it on rough roads that doesn’t suit a big, soft cruiser, and the suspension seems to be a little misjudged. The old Seven felt big until you went fast, then it shrank to 5-Series size. This one has the dynamic ability, but then it isn’t a very good cruiser the other 95 per cent of the time. A rare miss from BMW, and a miss that stops the 730d from getting a very high score.
