The next generation 2010 BMW X3 was caught on video by the fellows at Worldcarfans. The next, redesigned X3 was seen during heavily testing in the snowy Sweden. The new mode F25 will be built in Spartanburg, along with all the X models.
The new 2010 BMW X3 will grow in size and as a consequence, it will move up in the X models class making room for the BMW X1. The new X3 will measure 4.65 meters long, 1.85 meters wide and 1.68 meter tall, offering a more spacious cabin that the current generation.
With a wheelbase of 2.88 meters, they guess the car will have a larger rear overhang than the current model and offer some more space in the back seats as well.
WIth new competitors like the Mercedes-Benz GLK and Audi Q5, BMW is looking to revitalize the current X3 by designing a more dynamic performance oriented activity vehicle with a sleeker design and more appealing to the bimmer fans.
The X3 will also feature a lot of options that are not available for the current X3, for example the Head Up Display, Night-Vision or a hard-drive for music and navigation. Like the current model the new X3 will only be offered with X-Drive, so there won’t be a rear-wheel-drive-version like Mercedes plans for it’s GLK.
As expected and part of BMW’s strategy for cleaner emissions and efficiency, the BMW X3 will fully take advantage of the Efficient Dynamics technology. We have already seen the first X3 EfficientDynamics back in 2007. Two petrol engines will be offered, along with four diesel choices. The petrol engines will most likely be the straight six 3- liter engine and the twin-turbo six that produces 306 hp. The top diesel engine will most likely be the one found in the X5d or the 335d sedan.
The 2010 BMW X3 will be launched early next year.

A choice of 4 diesel engines? *sigh* Must be nice….
can’t what to see one, x3 needed a change…
The current X3 is one of the ugliest cars ever, I hope this one will look better.
Maybe something a bit more evolutionary is needed ?
