We’re continuing the same type of auto show coverage that we started and provided during the L.A Auto Show. Since we’re still a BMW blog, we won’t be posting photos of all the cars displayed at shows, but rather BMW’s competitors or any exotic and interesting concepts.
So today, we will start with Audi. A couple of days ago, we posted what I believe to be an amazing concept, the Sportback or the future A7 design. Of course, it received mixed reviews, some people totally digging their design trend, while others not having much faith in the Ingolstadt based carmaker.
Beside all the usual A4, A5 or Q7 models displayed at the previous auto shows, this time, we have the opportunity to see a couple of premiers: the already mentioned Sportback Concept and the new Audi R8 5.2 FSI V10.
The new 525 hp engine has been highly expected by all the Audi fans who are looking for a speed thrill. A top speed of 196 mph and 0-62 mph in 3.9 seconds, should give them all the adrenaline needed.
Not many changes in design when compared to the previous V8 model, just dual exhaust outlets, wider side air intakes and unique LED headlights and rear diffuser.
Price and availability? Next year and $180,000.
It’s a shame that us, the BMW fans, don’t have a similar choice of a high-end supercar. CS Concept anyone?

I’ve got a soft spot for Audi’s. And I think many other BMW owners feel the same way. The R8 is gorgeous. Glad you posted this Horatiu.
Gorgeous…
Yeah its a shame BMW cancelled the CS Concept, I mean Audi is just crushing BMW as far as style and even performance. BMW the hell PAV’s or PAS’s, get with a SUPER CAR DAMMIT!
LOVE THE R8! The car is amazing! it looks a million dollers and it has awsome performance figures with great handeling! No car currently avaliable can much the R8 re price. To be honest how can you have a porche or M6 over this? I wouldnt. This car made Audi to me. I feel like the brand itself has more confidance and is more respected. If it had 4 seats i would certinatly be staring at one in my garage right now.
