The upcoming 2010 BMW X3 has been spotted and filmed by the folks at CarMagazine UK. Just a few weeks back we saw the last spy shots of the new X3 next to the current generation X3 and we were able to draw some conclusions. The new 2010 BMW X3 will grow in size and as a consequence, it will move up in the X models class making room for the BMW X1. The 2010 X3 will measure 4650mm long, 1850mm wide and 1680mm, offering a more spacious cabin.
BMW’s plans to revitalize the current X3 by designing a more dynamic performance oriented activity vehicle with a sleeker design and more appealing. The X3 will follow the X5’s steps by getting more round corners and a sportier look.
The 2010 BMW X3 will be manufactured at the Spartanburg plant due to X1, which is based on the 1 Series platform and built at BMW’s Austrian plant. BMW has high hopes for the new X3 and they are planning to increase the sales up to 160,000, from the 100,000 currently.
Video after the jump
As expected and part of BMW’s strategy for cleaner emissions and efficiency, the BMW X3 will fully take advantage of the Efficient Dynamics technology. We have already seen the first X3 EfficientDynamics back in 2007. The engine line-up will include petrol and diesel options, along with a full hybrid system. We expect to see four and six cylinder engines, with the highest one being the twin-turbo six that produces 300 hp.
Other features as start-stop technology, active steering and the newest xDrive system will hopefully attract more customers to the 2010 BMW X3.
But, here is the video posted by the fellows at CarMagazine UK :
