Since you’re all here and reading our BMW related blog, I assume you’re huge BMW fans and therefore, you know your bimmers. But since I don’t take anything for granted, I decided to put you up to a little fun test.
I chose 10 models from the BMW’s past and present line-up and since I didn’t want to make it too easy for you, with some effort and Photoshop, I cut out the front-end of all these cars.
The idea is for you, the true BMW fans, to recognize the cars based on the headlights and in some cases, part of the front bumper. There is only one rule in this contest: you have to name the BMW model, the chassis codename and in some cases if we’re looking at the facelift version or not.

Well I agree with sutheshkumar, because the 130i has all chromium-plated kidney and the one in the picture doesn’t, so it must be the facelifted 3er because of the round shape of the kidney.
And it can’t be the 1er with M-package because the 1er with that exterior package has the pre-facelifte kideny with larger upper side.

I’m pretty sure the 8 series is an 850Ci, as I recognise it as an original brochure shot – however I don’t think it’s possible to differentiate between the 840Ci and the 850Ci from that angle. It’s not a CSi as the fornt bumper is not right, and it’s definatley not a sport model.
The 5er is an M-sport, you can see the joins where the bodykit meets the bumper, but no idea which model
I don’t think the E46 is a 330 or a 328.. aren’t the grille slats dark chrome on the bigger engines?
