The 2009 BMW Z4 official catalog has made its way into our hands, so we decided to share it with you. Many information in the catalog could be found in the press release as well, but the catalog is a little better structured and comprehensive.
You will find all the information on the standard and optional features, and a comparison between the three models.
One thing that is missing are the exterior colors which I’m working on getting some photos with them. In the mean time, I can tell you what options you will have when it comes to paints:
Non-Metallic
- Alpine White
- Crimson Red
- Jet Black
Metallic
- Titanium Silver
- Space Grey
- Orion Silver
- Deep Sea Blue
- Black Saphire
The official photos were showing the Z4 in Orion Silver, but the latest wallpapers, gives us the Deep Sea Blue, an extraordinary color.

- BmwM5Fan: for me, a regular m3, but stroked would be fine, with all the luxuries inside
- Lou Reggin: Jon, the “H” in your name must mean “homo” if you are looking for a E36…
- phillegal: I don’t think any wing will look that great on the M3, but regardless it does what it was designed...
- ferrarifan: nice car. but at that price, ferrari f430 or california for me. =)

The Deep Sea Blue is the best. Then again…. I’m biased. All the BMWs I’ve owned are shades of blue… lol.
Correction. ALL my cars of different makers/models are blue. lol.
Ok wait…the Deep Sea Blue in the wallpapers is CONSIDERABLY darker than the shade in the catalog. Is the catalog .pdf color wrong, or the wallpapers? Please say the catalog…
The catalog could be wrong (I hope!). Color does a funny thing when it goes to printed media. Maybe someone forgot to do color calibration when it went to the printhouse… hmm….
Why so heavy
1580kg for 35i, WHYYY???!!!
thats because BMW used extensive research to lower vehicle weight, according to all their marketing materials. HAHAHA
Is that it? Two shades of Silver, two of black, one grey and boring old Alpine White? Where’s Montego Blue, Deep Maroon, Lemon Yellow and a nice hot green/gold?
That said I love the Deep Sea Blue, some photos show a bit of green, others don’t so perhaps it’s one of those multi-hue, layered paints.
IMO blues are a kind of signature color for BMW, has any other maker offered so many variations of blue?
