The C63 and CTS-V come with a cupful of smug, that’s why you get dipshits like that one at that stoplight, for him it was a “mine is longer than yours” thing. Give me the sophistication and style of the M5 any day, it’s a more adult car. The numbers matter less than the quality of the experience, especially at this price strata.

@Gragop: I agree. They are comparing apples to oranges. It is like including the M3 in the comparison.

The comparison therefore is between the M5 and the CTS. I haven’t driven the Cadillac but I respect the company’s history and from the performance figures it seems to be a worthy competitor.
Finally, if some people buy cars just for the social status then they are low life to begin with.

This comparison doesn’t make sense. The M5 competes with the E63 AMG and would be more inclined to go nose to nose with the Caddy STS-V. I understand that the horsepower is the purpose behind the comparison but you’re essentially comparing cars in different segments. Doesn’t make sense to me.

I like the CTS-V a lot, especially since it has a proper manual in it. That said, I’d forgo all of these cars and buy an M3 sedan and save $5k over the Caddy.
