Many of you might recall the beautiful Laguna Seca color that “broke” many hearts back in the E46 M3 times, but not many of you, if none, can recall seeing an E90 or E92 M3 in the beautiful blue Laguna Seca. Back in August, we reported that Will Shaw, a Client Advisor at Long Beach BMW has ordered one of the first E92 M3 Laguna Seca for the US.

The story starts with Will inquiring at BMW AG about the possibility of getting the M3 Coupe custom painted and the wait for the approval, which came a few weeks later.

Paperwork was filed and $5,000 later, Will’s dealership will become the proud owner, at least temporary, of a brand new 2009 BMW M3 Coupe customly painted. Within two hours of posting his success story on Bimmerpost, a customer from Maryland decided to be one, if not the only, owner of a 2009 Laguna Seca M3 Coupe. Adding a few more options to the car and picking up the M3 at the BMW Performance Center in Spartanburg, are completing a successful story and it show that BMW can be very accommodating as well.

We were asked not to reveal the owner’s name, but I would still like to thank him for taking the time to send us some photos.

Now, before I will let you drool over it, what do you think, was the $5,000 well spent?

I would never buy the M3 with this color, it is a little bit tacky….

then you have problems, Laguna Seca Blue and Pheonix Yellow are my 2 favorite colors for “M” models

I like Laguna Seca Blue on the E46 M3 – but I don’t think it necessarily suits the lines of the E92. I also think that it doesn’t suit color schemes of modern cars. The E46 pushed it but this doesn’t work at all. It’s nice to see it in a unique color but it’s just not for me.

bmwblog peeps, you’ve to do something about the Google ads rendering between the headline and the body content. We shouldnt have to scrolll down to read a post. Love the content/site!!

I almost bought a LSB e46 M3. I just couldn’t get past the color. It’s one thing in pics, but in-person is an entirely different story.

It’s a color that sounds cool – but I wouldn’t be comfortable driving around in a car the same color as Papa Smurf’s ass.

@marc: Marc, we’ll try to make them more subtle and blend it with the content. Maybe soon we will be able to remove them, there are still some costs associated with the blog and it helps to generate some revenue.

Thank you in advance for your understanding!

Honestly, no. The color is way too electric, way too “Hey, dude, look at me! See me? Look at me! Hey, why aren’t you looking at me?” for my tastes.

Come on…Lower the car a bit or put bigger wheels on it…(I have the same 18″ on mine M3) Through some CF accents on it and you will have yourself one beautiful car. If you think the color screams “Look at me” well the BMW M3 screams that no matter what color you buy. Paint the calipers LSB also and the car will look like a real race car.
